"Based in South Florida, designer Haley Holeman's edgy aesthetic packs each sterling silver piece with a glamorous and powerful punch. Just as a molotov cocktail exacts the perfect balance, her work is a delicate blend of evocation and beauty – a sensitivity that was acquired at a young age. As a second generation jeweler and daughter of enamelist Kristin Holeman, she was exposed to an abundance of awe-inspiring design early. With a creative and liberating backdrop she honed her craft, while finding an eclectic range of inspiration.
Often drawing on a macabre aesthetic, her influences include Southwestern indian art, animal anatomy, and entomology. Actual insects encased in glow-in-the-dark resin are juxtaposed beside unusually cut gemstones, fossils, and exotic leathers. Like the insects themselves these pieces illicit a strong reaction, defining the phrase “conversation jewelry”. Most recently Ms. Holeman made use of an over 2 million year old fossilized megalodon shark tooth, pairing it with amethyst geodes to create a fierce statement necklace. The megalodon shark was a fearsome predator and larger in size than our modern day whale shark. Any woman wearing Haley Holeman jewelry shares a commonality with this predator; She has nothing to fear, as she is already the baddest babe in the room."
